DIY sharpie mugs… Give it a try!

I think I found my go-to gift this year. Sharpie mugs!

I found a bunch of different pins on Pinterest.com on these sharpie mugs and how you can make them yourself. So I decided to give it a try. I bought a couple of regular Sharpie markers and a few white Dollar Store mugs.

You can write anything on these mugs: quotes, monograms, lyrics, drawings, etc. If you can write, you can create a mug. Then bake them at a 325* oven for 30 minutes. Put the mug in before you preheat the oven and leave the mug in the oven until it cools after. I guess this sets the marker. I hand washed mine after I made it and the marker stayed on. I have not tried the dishwasher yet. But I think a note in the mug that says “hand wash only” would be good.

What a great gift for co-workers, teachers, neighbors, bus drivers, etc.
Wrap with some candy in cellophane with a cute bow and poof! A really special holiday gift!
